Trauma-Informed, Open to All
Currently, I only offer therapy online. This means that if you have a connection to the internet on your phone or computer you can reach me. I offer individualized, trauma-informed care for those seeking healing from past experiences. Maybe you had a tough childhood. Maybe you've experienced interpersonal violence more recently than that. Contact me to set up a free and no hassle consultation call today.
My goal in therapy is to help you increase your awareness of yourself, the ways that past events have impacted who you are today, and how you can heal yourself to live a full, satisfying life.
I utilize EMDR as the primary modality for treating trauma. It is an evidence-based practice, which means we have verified that it can help your brain reprocess memories, feelings, and emotions.
I will venture this journey alongside you. I will listen without judgment and guide you as you grow, heal, and move forward to reach your ambitions.
I offer nuanced treatment for all persons seeking to heal. This means that I do not discriminate based on religion or lack of, legal status, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, employment status, or disability.
My focus in my practice centers around the evidence we have that past events you have lived through leave lasting impacts on your brain and body. This is what we call "trauma-informed care", or a posture of incorporating up-to-date research from the biomedical fields into therapeutic interactions with all clients.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences (Maxfield, 2019). EMDR therapy has even been superior to Prozac in trauma treatment (Van der Kolk et al., 2007). Shapiro and Forrest (2016) share that more than 7 million people have been treated successfully by 110,000 therapists in 130 countries since 2016.
